Eat That Frog.
Eat That Frog is an expression credited Brian Tracy, a well known self help guru and author of many well known personal improvement books who coined the phrase and called a book after it.
The eat that frog methodology is something really easy that you can apply to your working day in order to be more productive and to stop you procrastinating, as Brian puts it;
“If the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning is eat a live frog, then nothing worse can happen for the rest of the day!” – Brian Tracy
Hence the title of the book ‘Eat That Frog’, but most importantly the take home message from the book is to;
‘do your most important task first’.
The book Eat That Frog also guides you through a process of structuring your tasks in a more effective way to achieve your goals. The author does this by describing how you can develop a goals orientated, purpose driven method of breaking down your tasks.
I think he hits the nail on the head with his main message of doing the most important task first, and this method if continually repeated will develop into an effective habit of prioritising, increase your productivity and avoiding procrastination.
The message is simple ‘do first things first’ and ‘eat that frog’.
